Bit is a robust platform that was built for teams of all sizes, regardless of physical location and time zones to collaborate and work together on projects, deliverables, proposals, client content, published content, daily work to-dos, and more. Bit's rich documents make collaboration a breeze as teams can communicate in an integrated way around ideas, goals, visions, initiatives, reports, processes, analysis, client communication, vendor/partner projects, and much more.
Adding collaborators to a workspace is an important part of using Bit to it's full potential. You and the collaborators who join your workspace can work together in real-time.
There are three ways to add collaborators to your workspace:
One method is by adding existing team members who are part of your Bit organization.
Another method is to invite brand new members to your Bit organization.
The third method is to invite free guests to your Bit organization. Guests can only comment or read documents.

1οΈβ£How to add team members as collaborators to your workspace
ππΌ1. Once signed in, click on 'Workspaces' on the left sidebar.

ππΌ2. Select an existing 'workspace' you want to add collaborators to or create a 'New Workspace' that you want to add collaborators to.

ππΌ3. Once your workspace is open, you can invite collaborators either by click on the (+) symbol or clicking on the 'Settings' tab.

ππΌ4. A collaborator pop up will open up. It will display the current collaborators in the workspace.

ππΌ5. To add additional teammates start typing their names and they will start to auto-populate. Click the name of the teammate you want to add and close the pop-up. An email and in-app notification will be sent to them alerting that they have been added to your workspace.

ππΌ6. Then, choose the permission level you want to grant the collaborator. You can choose from full access, edit only, comment only or read-only.
Full Access: Can edit, invite, share & manage
Edit Only: Can edit & share
Comment Only: Can read & Comment
Read Only: Can only read

ππΌ7. Once you're done, click add. An email and in-app notification will be sent to them alerting that they have been added to your workspace.

2οΈβ£How to invite new members to your organization and add them as collaborators to a workspace
If you're an admin or manager of your organization, follow these steps:
ππΌ1. Once signed in, click on 'Workspaces' on the left sidebar.

ππΌ2. Select an existing 'workspace' you want to add collaborators to or create a 'New Workspace' that you want to add collaborators to.

ππΌ3. Once your workspace is open, you can invite collaborators either by click on the (+) symbol or clicking on the 'Settings' tab.

ππΌ4. A collaborator pop up will open up. It will display the current collaborators in the workspace.

ππΌ5. To add new teammates to your Bit organization click on the 'Invite New Member' button on the bottom of the pop-up.

ππΌ6. Next, enter the email addresses of the new members you would like to invite to your account.

ππΌ7. Add the workspaces you want to add them to.

ππΌ8. Click 'Send Invitations.'

ππΌ9. An email invitation will be sent to them asking them to join your organization.

ππΌ10. Once they join they will be added automatically to the workspaces you invited them to. You'll receive an email letting you know when they have been added to the workspace.

3οΈβ£ How to invite new guests to your organization and add them to a workspace
If you're an admin or manager of your organization with the Business Plan, follow these steps:
ππΌ1. Once signed in, click on 'Workspaces' on the left sidebar.

ππΌ2. Select an existing 'workspace' you want to add collaborators to or create a 'New Workspace' that you want to add collaborators to.

ππΌ3. Once your workspace is open, you can invite collaborators either by click on the (+) symbol or clicking on the 'Settings' tab.

ππΌ4. A collaborator pop up will open up. It will display the current collaborators in the workspace.

ππΌ5. To add new guests to your Bit organization click on the 'Guests' tab on the left side of the popup.

ππΌ6. Once it's open, click on the 'Invite Guests' button on the bottom right corner of the popup.

ππΌ7. Next, a pop up will open. Enter the email addresses of the new guests you would like to invite to your account for free.

ππΌ7. Add the workspaces you want to add them to. Don't miss this step. It's important that your guests have a workspace they can access.

ππΌ8. Click 'Send Invitations.'

ππΌ9. An email invitation will be sent to them asking them to join your organization.

ππΌ10. Once they join they will be added automatically to the workspaces you invited them to. You'll receive an email letting you know when they have been added to the workspace.

ππΌ11. This is the view that your guest will see when they enter the workspace. They will not be able to see the content library, settings, or insights.
